Mezzo-soprano Eunjoo Lee is a native of Seoul South Korea. After her education, and studying in Italy she came to America. In New York, She was First Place winner of the New York Vocal Arts Competition where she performed at Carnegie Hall. Then she was also awarded a performance at Carnegie Hall as a result of her winning the Naomi Artists Rising Star Competition.

Her brilliant mezzo- soprano artistry has been extolled in many roles including Carmen, Dalila, in Samson et Dalila, Adalgisa in Norma, Suzuki in Madama Butterfly, Maddalena in Rigoletto, Santuzza in Cavalleria Rusticana, Amneris in Aida and many others. Critics have described her interpretation of Suzuki as “impressive,” and that “”She has a big warm voice and sympathetic presence drawing the greatest applause from the audience.””

Appearances with various opera companies throughout United States and her native Korea Include: New York City Opera Vox, Opera Roanoke Virginia, Des Moines Metro Opera, Queens Opera, Opera at Florham, Duluth festival Opera, Long Island opera, Seoul National Opera, Seoul City Opera, and Inchon City Opera.

Along with the Operatic stage, Ms Lee also enjoys the concert venue. In concert and oratorio repertoire, Ms. Lee has appeared as a soloist in a variety of repertoire including the Charpentier’s Te Deum, and Mass in C of Beethoven at Carnegie Hall with Mid- America Productions. With the Peniel Symphony Orchestra in New York, she has performed Handel’’s Messiah, the Mass in C of Beethoven, and Mozart Requiem at Avery fisher Hall and Alice Tully Hall. She has been heard as a frequent soloist at Lincoln Center in New York.

Ms. Lee was a featured soloist at Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center with the Little Orchestra Society of New York, under the baton of Maestro Dino Anagnost, singing in a Vivaldi Bel Canto Opera night. She also performed Vivaldi Cantata with the same company in Town Hall New York. In addition to this, she made her debut in the role of Santuzza in Cavalleria Rusticana with the Catskill Philharmonic Orchestra in New York, with a repeat performance with Schenectady Symphony Orchestra and Utica symphony Orchestra in New York.

Ms. Lee was then called back to her native Korea to perform Verdi Requiem with Daejeon Philharmonic Orchestra were she received a standing ovation. In the opera venue, Ms. Lee has performed the role of Suzuki in Madama Butterfly with Duluth Festival Opera, and then sang as a guest artist, doing the role La Zia Principessa in Suor Angelica at Rutgers University.

Recent engagements include: Beethoven 9th Symphony with Korea National Orchestra in Bergen PAC New Jersey and Beethoven C Major Mass, Haydn Harmoniemesse with Greater Newburgh Symphony Orchestra in New York. She repeated a performance of the role of Suzuki in Madama Butterfly with Opera Roanoke. She then returned to her native Korea to perform Prokofiev’s Op 78 cantata for Mezzo Soprano with the Daegu Symphony Orchestra. Upcoming engagements include Mozart Requiem with Bismarck Orchestra in North Dakota.
